Achraf Hakimi

Achraf Hakimi joined Dortmund on a two year loan deal from Real Madrid in the summer. The 20 years-old had to wait a while to make his debut, but has since become one of the most important players in this campaign for the Black and Yellow.

Hakimi took his opportunities from the moment he given the chance to prove himself in the Black and Yellow. The 19 year old has one goal and six assists in 17 games in all competitions so far this season. The Moroccan is in the top three of this list after showing his great level in both facets of a full back’s game. He has been solid in the defensive zone and is a very dangerous player going forward. He has been used both as a right back and a left back, but has succeeded in both roles so far.

When Hakimi gets in his stride, its really hard to stop him, as so many teams have already found out this season. His marauding runs down the wing have become a real feature of Borussia Dortmund’s play and his link up play has also been excellent. Hakimi was voted Africa’s best young player for 2018 yesterday, and he has the attributes to become the best full back in the world. Lets hope that Borussia Dortmund can snap him up on a permanent transfer before his loan deal expires.
