Borussia Dortmund continued their fantastic start to the second half of the Bundesliga campaign with a commanding 5-1 victory over Hannover 96, one of the Bundesliga’s relegation candidates. Die Schwarzgelben came into the game looking to put pressure on Bayern Munich, who host Stuttgart at the Allianz in their next Bundesliga match up.

The game started out a bit shaky for the Black and Yellows, with Roman Bürki forced to make a massive save as a cross found Hannover forward Hendrik Weydant in the box. Hannover’s number 26 sent a very strong header towards Bürki’s goal, but the Swiss shot stopper was able to parry it away for a corner. Hannover continued to press Dortmund, creating a few opportunities, but the momentum would soon swing in monumental fashion in favor of the hosts. The final score epitomizes just how drastic the swing in momentum was.

The second half saw Dortmund run rampant to a well earned 3 points, extending their lead above Bayern Munich to 9 points in the table at least for the day. Lets take a look at some of the key talking points for this fixture, and some of the key figures that propelled Dortmund to this emphatic scoreline.
