Ruthless Borussia Dortmund thrashed Hannover 96, while Bayern Munich dispatched Stuttgart and Peter Bosz finally got back to winning ways. Here is a look at how Matchday 19 of the Bundesliga season panned out.

Borussia Dortmund looked to be back at their best on Saturday as they cruised to a dominant 5-1 win over second bottom Hannover 96. The Black and Yellows enjoyed a goal glut with five different players finding the back of the net. Achraf Hakimi, Marco Reus, Mario Goetze, Raphaël Guerreiro and Axel Witsel all scored for the home side, while Marvin Bakalorz netted a consolation for the struggling Die Roten. The defeat, Hannover’s eighth in a row, proved to be fatal for head coach Andre Breitenreiter, as he was sacked earlier today.

Bayern Munich kept pace with the league leaders by beating Stuttgart 4-1. Despite the scoreline, the result was anything but straightforward for the Bavarians. Bayern took the lead after just five minutes through Thiago, but Anastasios Donis leveled things up for Stuttgart in the 26th minute. An own goal by Christian Gentner helped Bayern retake the lead in the 55th minute, before Nicolas Gonzalez hit the woodwork for the away side. Robert Lewandowski then missed a penalty, but Leon Goretzka calmed their nerves just five minutes later, making it 3-1 for the hosts. Lewandowski then made amends for his penalty miss five minutes before full time to seal the win for his side.

Third placed Borussia Mönchengladbach needed two late goals to see off the challenge of Augsburg and stay nine points behind Borussia Dortmund. Oscar Wendt and Patrick Herrmann found the net for The Foals.

Leipzig also enjoyed a goal glut as they pummeled Fortuna Dusseldorf 4-0. Yussuf Poulsen gave Leipzig the lead just two minutes into the game. Ibrahima Konaté made it 2-0 just seven minutes later, before Poulsen added a second in the 16th minute. Konrad Laimer then made it 4-0 in the 68th minute.

Peter Bosz enjoyed his first win in charge of Bayer Leverkusen as they eased to a 3-0 win over Wolfsburg. Kai Havertz, Julian Brandt and Kevin Volland all found the net to help the Dutchman get off the mark at his new club. Fifth placed Eintracht Frankfurt played out a topsy turvy 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen. Max Eggestein opened the scoring for Bremen with a stunning goal, before Ante Rebic made it 1-1. Martin Harnik then scored to help Bremen get back in front, but Sebastien Haller’s penalty meant that the points were shared.

Hertha Berlin and Schalke 04 were also involved in an entertaining 2-2 draw, with all four goals coming in the first half. Schalke twice took the lead, but were pegged back by the Hertha both times. TSG Hoffenheim got back to winning ways after a six goal thriller with Freiburg. Joelinton, Andrej Kramaric (x2) and Kerem Demirbay all scored for Julian Nagelsmann’s side as they moved up to sixth place in the standings. Bottom club Nuremberg suffered another defeat, this time away to Mainz 05. Robin Quaison scored the winner 17 minutes from time for the 05ers, who moved to tenth place in the league table.
