After a convincing win over Hannover 96, Borussia Dortmund already have their sights set on this weekend’s clash away to Eintracht Frankfurt. With the transfer window set to close on Thursday, it could be a busy week for the Black and Yellows, with the club still hoping to sell a few fringe players.

Dortmund hoping to extend Lucien Favre’s contract
According to BILD, Borussia Dortmund want to extend Lucien Favre’s contract as quickly as possible and talks will take place during the international break in March. Favre only became Borussia Dortmund head coach in the summer after signing a two year deal with the club. And the Swiss trainer has had quite an impact on the club, with Borussia Dortmund sitting pretty at the top of the table.
The club expect to find a quick agreement with Favre and will be hoping to celebrate with the Bundesliga title come May.
Leonardo Balerdi injured on international duty
New signing Leonardo Balerdi suffered a horrific mouth injury while away with the Argentina U-20s at the South American U-20 Championships. The 19 year old received a kick in the face during his nation’s clash against Uruguay, which led to heavy bleeding from his mouth. Balerdi has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament and is expected to be out for a while.
Jeremy Toljan wanted by Scottish champions Celtic
Scottish giants Celtic are weighing up a move for out of favor full back Jeremy Toljan. The 24 year old hasn’t played all season and is free to leave Borussia Dortmund this month. According to reports in Scotland, Celtic are keen to sign a full back and Toljan is on their radar. With just two days to go till the transfer window closes, Celtic will have to move quickly if they want to complete the signing in time.
Max Kruse linked to Borussia Dortmund. No, really!
According to Express.de Borussia Monchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are all keeping tabs on Werder Bremen striker Max Kruse. The 30 year old’s contract expires in June and with Borussia Dortmund looking to sign a back up striker, he could prove to be a decent depth option. Kruse has four goals and five assists in 19 Bundesliga appearances for Bremen so far, with his best strike undoubtedly coming against Borussia Dortmund from the edge of the box.
Amos Pieper joins Arminia Bielefeld
Borussia Dortmund II centre back Amos Pieper has completed a permanent transfer to second division side Arminia Bielefeld. The 21 year old joined Borussia Dortmund in 2010 but failed to make a single first team appearance for the club. He was used in a number of friendly matches by Lucien Favre this season, and also made the bench against Borussia Monchengladbach in December.
