Borussia Dortmund travel to London to face Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the round of sixteen in the Champions League. Both teams are missing key players as they enter the knock out stage which should make for an interesting first leg.

Tottenham are currently sitting third in the Premier League table and are a part of the title picture, but only just about. They have won each of their last four games in the Premier League, but tasted defeat in both the League Cup and the FA Cup in January.

They lost the first two games in their Champions League group, before a much improved second half of the group stage saw them qualify for the knockout rounds ahead of Inter Milan.

Borussia Dortmund are top of the Bundesliga table, with a total of 50 points after 21 matches. They boast a five point lead on Bayern Munchen, who currently sit second in the Bundesliga. In their previous two matches Borussia Dortmund have drew against both Frankfurt and Hoffenheim, but they head into this match looking to get a positive result against a tough opponent.

Borussia Dortmund faced Tottenham last year in the group stage of the Champions league, losing both games. In one of their worst Champions League group stages in recent history Dortmund struggled mightily against Tottenham. Heung-Min Son scored as he always does against Dortmund to win both games. Dortmund dropped down to the UEFA Europa League, eventually being eliminated by RB Salzburg in the round of 16.

What can we expect for the match

Borussia Dortmund are a very different team this time around, with a very different squad and a new coach. Coming off an exceptional first half to the Bundesliga season as well as the Group stage of the Champions League, topping their group over Atletico Madrid.

Facing Tottenham at Wembley will be no easy task especially with all of the injuries to Dortmund players. They will be without Piszczek, Reus, Weigl, Akanji and Alcacer in the round of 16. Tottenham will also be without some key players as Kane and Alli have already been ruled out and Dier and Rose are both potentially out.

With all of the injuries this should make for an interesting match, even with all of the injuries both teams have players with class who can make a huge difference. Borussia Dortmund will hopefully be able to pull their play together after a couple poor results and get back to winning ways.

Possible Line-ups
