Fans watching this weekend’s edition of the Bundesliga’s “topspiel” were treated to an exhilarating match courtesy of Hertha Berlin and Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Hertha Berlin hosted Borussia Dortmund in a game that had goals and drama aplenty, making it a mouthwatering fixture for neutrals and invested fans alike. Hertha were allowed to take the lead early on through a rare Roman Bürki mistake that allowed Salomon Kalou to score, something that Kalou has been very fond of doing against Dortmund in the past. A Delaney deflection leveled it for the visitors shortly thereafter, but a very questionable penalty call restored Hertha’s lead as Kalou slotted home his second of the game.

The second half would be all Dortmund, however, the visitors applying pressure from the off, and goals from Dan Axel Zagadou and Marco Reus were just enough the haul Die Schwarzgelben over the line to three points that they desperately needed to stay in the title race.
