As we inch closer to the end of the season, we are also getting closer to start of the transfer window. And the latest rumors suggest that Borussia Dortmund are ramping up efforts to sign a new left back, while the in-form Alexander Isak is a target for Barcelona.

Nico Schulz

According to the very reliable Ruhr Nachrichten, Hoffenheim left back Nico Schulz has emerged as a target for Borussia Dortmund. The German international has gone from strength to strength in recent years and is now considered to be one of the best full-backs in the league.

Schulz is known for his pace and his ability to make darting runs up and down the pitch. He is also a very capable defender and has an eye for goal. So Borussia Dortmund’s interest in signing him is no surprise. The report adds that initial talks have already taken place between Borussia Dortmund and Schulz, and the player is open to securing a move away from Hoffenheim in order to play Champions League football.

Schulz is 26 and is nearing his prime, so signing him would be a good move for the Black and Yellows. Whether they can afford him though, is another question, as he is under contract with Hoffenheim until 2021.

Filipe Luis

Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte say that Borussia Dortmund are one of the clubs interested in signing veteran full-back Filipe Luis. The Brazilian international’s contract expires at the end of the season, so he would be available on a free transfer. Paris St. Germain and clubs in Brazil are also interested in signing Luis, while an extension with Atletico Madrid is not out of the question either. So a move to Borussia Dortmund seems unlikely.

Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak has been setting the Eredivisie alight since moving to Willem II on loan in January, and reports in Spain say that Barcelona are set to renew their interest in signing the young Swede. According to Mundo Deportivo, Isak is back on the radar of Barcelona, two years after they lost out on his signature to Borussia Dortmund.

The report adds that Borussia Dortmund are open to offers for the young striker, which is contradictory to reports in the German media, that say that Isak will be a part of the first team squad next season.

Andre Schurrle

Following their relegation to the second division, Fulham are ready to send Andre Schurrle back to Borussia Dortmund. Schurrle joined the newly promoted side on a two year loan deal but failed to prevent them from enduring a torrid first season in the Premier League.

The 28 year old is out of favor at Borussia Dortmund, so its likely that he will once again leave the club in the summer, either on loan or on a permanent transfer.
