Borussia Dortmund will be hoping to bounce back from their derby defeat to Schalke as they travel to Werder Bremen on Matchday 32 of the Bundesliga season.

Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of winning the Bundesliga title were dealt a major blow in last weekend’s defeat to Schalke. The gap between Lucien Favre’s side and Bayern Munich is now two points with three games to go. And the Black and Yellows know that they must win all three games if they are to have any chance of toppling the Bavarians.

Borussia Dortmund suffered a damaging defeat to rivals Schalke last time around. But they must pick themselves back up quickly if they are to stay in the title race with three games to go. The Black and Yellows will be hoping for a repeat of the 4-0 win away to Freiburg two weeks ago. But they will have to do so without the suspended Marco Reus.

Werder Bremen were unbeaten in 2019 up until three games ago. But Florian Kohfeldt’s side have tasted three defeats on the bounce in all competitions. Last week’s 4-1 defeat at Fortuna Düsseldorf saw them slip to ninth place in the league table. And they will be looking to bolster their slim hopes of qualifying for the Europa League with a win against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Team News

Borussia Dortmund will be without the suspended duo of Marco Reus and Marius Wolf who were sent off last weekend. While Dan Axel Zagadou and Achraf Hakimi are also out with long term injuries. Lukasz Piszczek is back in training and could make his return to the side after missing the last three games.

Werder Bremen have a number of injury issues of their own, with Niklas Moisander suspended after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season last weekend. Philipp Bargfrede and Fin Bartels are also out with thigh injuries. In-form striker Milot Rashica was also an injury doubt, but Florian Kohfeldt revealed yesterday that he is fit to feature against Dortmund.
