Christian Pulisic scores in final game in front of the Yellow Wall

With this Bundesliga season coming to a close, so is Christian Pulisic’s career as a Borussia Dortmund player. His move to Chelsea was finalized back in the winter transfer window, but Pulisic has been adamant about wanting to help Dortmund lift the Bundesliga title this season, topping off what he has called the best five years of his life.

In his final game at the Westfalenstadion, Pulisic played his part in trying to help Die Schwarzgelben do this by opening the scoring one last time in front of the Dortmund faithful in emphatic fashion. In the 40th minute, a wonderfully lofted ball by Raphaël Guerreiro found Delaney in the box, and the Dane unselfishly headed the ball towards Pulisic, who managed to put the ball into the back of the net with his own head from point blank range. It was a goal that had clearly been coming, with Dortmund having the majority of possession and chances of the two teams in the first half.

With this goal, Pulisic brought his total in the Bundesliga to 4 for the season, accompanied with 3 assists. While Pulisic has been more of a bit part player this campaign both due to the emergence of Jadon Sancho and injuries, his class is something Dortmund fans will surely remember and cherish. We wish him all the best in the next stage of his career.
