Maximilian Philipp (5/10)

Maxi Philipp kind of drew the short end of the stick this season. Asked to play out of position as a striker because there were no other real alternatives, and then once Dortmund figured out some other striking options, he was never given a real shot on the wing. His season may be regarded as a disappointment by a lot of people, but I’m not sure how much we should have been expecting considering the chances he was given.

It’s unfortunate that Philipp could be on his way out this summer, as I don’t think we ever got to see what he could truly offer. He got off to a great start with Dortmund last season before getting injured and then this season was never put in a position to truly succeed.
