Winner: Lucien Favre

Lucien Favre worked wonders in his first season in charge and got Borussia Dortmund to finish just two points behind leaders Bayern, something not many expected before the start of the season. And the BVB bosses have not only bolstered his squad with players that are suited to his playing style and demands, but are also set to reward him with a new contract.

On the pitch, Favre will have more options than before, especially in attack. The arrivals of Nico Schulz, Thorgan Hazard and Julian Brandt mean that the Swiss tactician now has more ammunition and he can also use different tactical approaches to games, something he wasn’t able to do this season.

Favre will also have much more quality and depth, so he hopefully won’t have to play players out of positions in case of injuries, like he had to do in the second half of the season.

Favre has not been one to complain, unless it comes to referees. But he will certainly be delighted with the business Borussia Dortmund have done so far.
