Shinji Kagawa

Kagawa joined Borussia Dortmund for a measly €350,000 in the summer of 2010. The Japanese playmaker proved to be an instant proved to be an instant hit and won the Bundesliga title in his first season with the club. He was also named in the Bundesliga Best XI for the season. He helped the Black and Yellows win the double in the 2011–12 season, scoring 13 goals and providing 8 assists.

In 2012, Manchester United came calling and signed Kagawa for an initial fee of 16 million euros. Kagawa enjoyed a promising debut campaign in England and helped United win the league title. However, following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, Kagawa was not given much of a chance in the team as United finished seventh.

After a frustrating year, Kagawa returned to Borussia Dortmund for just 8 million euros. He quickly found his form and was a regular in the team for the next three years. But following the arrival of Lucien Favre, he fell out of favor once again.

He joined Besiktas on loan in January 2019 and enjoyed a decent second half of the season. He is set to return to Borussia Dortmund this summer, but its clear that his future lies away from the Westfalenstadion.
