Borussia Dortmund have bolstered their defense with the signing of Mats Hummels. So we take a look at what affect the transfer could have on the current Borussia Dortmund centre backs.

Mats Hummels is certainly not coming to Borussia Dortmund to sit on the bench. He will want to start most games, and be one of the first names on the teamsheet. And Borussia Dortmund would not have broken their transfer record for him if they wanted only a rotation option.

Hummels’ arrival will certainly open a host of new discussions about who will drop out of the starting XI and whose future might be in danger.
