Dan Axel Zagadou

Zagadou was almost sold last summer, but luckily for Borussia Dortmund, they decided to keep him. In return, the marauding centre back showed maturity and composure beyond his years, becoming one of the most important players in the team in the first half of the season.

His second half of the season was a bit error prone, but one cannot deny that Zagadou has immense potential and can be a world class centre back in the future. Tall, strong, composed on the ball, good in the air and never afraid of a duel, the Frenchman has all the attributes to become a leading defender for both club and country.

While Hummels’ arrival may push him out of the team, Zagadou is still only 20 and can learn a lot from the former Borussia Dortmund captain. A team needs at least four centre backs over the course of the season, so Zagadou will get his chances.

Both the club and Lucien Favre rate Zagadou very highly, so there is zero chance of him getting sold.
