Attacking Midfield: Julian Brandt

Julian Brandt was the signing fans were dreaming of but never expected to become a reality. But Borussia Dortmund pulled it off, and quite remarkably, just for 25 million euros.

One of Germany’s brightest stars, Brandt has the potential to make an immediate and telling impact for Dortmund. Blessed with great pace, physicality, dribbling and technical ability he can play anywhere across the Dortmund attack.

His most likely positions will be in the attacking midfield or out wide. However he proved last year, with Peter Bosz in Leverkusen, that he is even able to play a deeper central midfield position, as a number eight.

Brandt slides right into our ideal Dortmund starting XI, next to Marco Reus as a key cog in the Dortmund attack. His style of play is perfectly suited for Dortmund, fans cannot wait to see what Brandt is able to do in his new colors.
