Shinji Kagawa

Shinji Kagawa like so many others was brought in by Klopp, but only stayed for two years before joining English side Manchester United. The now 30 year old was one of the most exciting players for the black and yellows in the back to back title winning campaigns. Although at the time of his arrival, the midfielder was relatively unknown.

The Japanese international would dazzle and impress during his first spell with Borussia Dortmund. During his second season, he put up a massive 17 goals and 14 assists in all competitions, leading his side to a double and making him worth far more than the fee of 350,000 Euros spent bringing him to Germany.

One of the most memorable moments for Kagawa came in the Ruhr derby when he promised to score two goals against Schalke and win the match. He ended up doing just that and it remains a feat that will stay with fans forever.

After an unsuccessful spell at Manchester United, Kagawa ended up returning to Borussia Dortmund. Unfortunately, his game time started to diminish when Lucien Favre was brought in. Earlier this month, Kagawa decided to seal a dream move to Spain, joining Real Zaragoza for 3 million euros and leaving Dortmund a fan favorite.
