Bundesliga Roundup: Borussia Dortmund continue winning run, Bayern thrash Schalke

It has been yet another entertaining weekend in the Bundesliga so far, with drama, talking points and goals aplenty. Here we take a look at how teams have fared on matchday two.
Borussia Dortmund got the matchday underway with a come from behind 3-1 win away against newly promoted side FC Köln. Dominick Drexler gave the Billy Goats the lead in the first half, but second half goals from Jadon Sancho, Achraf Hakimi and Paco Alcacer helped the Black and Yellows turn things around and continue their winning run.
Saturday saw Bayern Munich register their first win of the Bundesliga campaign, as they beat Schalke 04 3-0 courtesy of a Robert Lewandowski hat-trick. The game wasn’t without controversy though, as the Royal Blues were denied two stonewall penalties when Bayern were two goals ahead.
Bayer Leverkusen continued their impressive run with a 3-1 win away to Fortuna Dusseldorf. Peter Bosz’ side took the lead through an own goal, before Charles Aranguiz and Karim Bellarabi found the net to give Leverkusen an unassailable lead heading into half-time. Alfredo Morales pulled a goal back for Fortuna, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
Hoffenheim got their first win under new head coach Alfred Schreuder, beating Werder Bremen 3-2 in a topsy turvy encounter. Florian Kohfeldt’s side took the lead in the 42nd minute through Niclas Füllkrug, before Ermin Bicakcic and Ihlas Bebou turned things around for Hoffenheim. Bremen equalised in the 81st minute through Yuya Osaka, but Pavel Kaderabek scored the winner six minutes later. Bremen had Johannes Eggestein sent off in the 77th minute.
Newly promoted side Union Berlin got their first ever Bundesliga point as they held Augsburg to a 1-1 draw. Augsburg took the lead through Ruben Vargas at the hour mark, but Sebastian Andersson equalised for Union Berlin before Keven Schlotterbeck was sent off in the 83rd minute.
Freiburg made it two wins out of two as they came from a goal down to beat Paderborn 3-1. Streli Mamba gave Paderborn the lead in just the third minute, but Luca Waldschmidt and Nils Petersen scored to give Freiburg the lead going into half time. Chang Hoon Kwon added a third late on to help secure the three points.
Marco Rose got his first win as Borussia Mönchengladbach coach, as his side also came from behind to beat Mainz 3-1. Robin Quaison headed home the opener for Mainz, before Stefan Lainer scored the equaliser at the half hour mark. Alassane Plea and Breel Embolo then scored in the second half to give the Foals a hard fought win.
On Sunday, RB Leipzig maintained their 100% record with a 2-1 win at home to Eintracht Frankfurt. Timo Werner gave Julian Nagelsmann’s side the lead early on, before Yussuf Poulsen doubled their lead in the 80th minute. Goncalo Paciencia pulled a goal back for the Eagles late on, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
Wolfsburg also maintained their impressive start with a 3-0 win over Hertha Berlin on Sunday. Wout Weghorst opened the scoring from the spot in the ninth minute, before late goals from Josip Brekalo and Jerome Roussillon sealed the victory for the Wolves.
