Achraf Hakimi leads the team with world class display

Borussia Dortmund needed a game changer last night and they got one in Achraf Hakimi. The Moroccan international’s pace and athleticism made him a threat for the Inter defence right from minute one and he worked immensely hard without much success in the first half.

But his non stop energy and running was finally rewarded in the second half when he netted two of Borussia Dortmund’s three goals. His instincts, positioning and intelligence helped him find that extra space in and around the Inter box, and he showed excellent composure to finish both his chances to win the game for his side.

Hakimi is now the third highest scorer in the competition with four goals, behind just Erling Braut Haaland and Robert Lewandowski.

The 21 year old has received a lot of flak in recent weeks, but deserves all the praise in the world for last night’s blistering display.
