December 07: Home to Fortuna Düsseldorf

Borussia Dortmund’s first game of December will see them face Fortuna Düsseldorf at the Westfalenstadion. Friedhelm Funkel were the first team to hand Der BVB a Bundesliga defeat last season, and nearly shocked them again when the two teams met on the penultimate weekend of the campaign. So Lucien Favre’s men will have to be at their best if they are to get the three points.

Fortuna Düsseldorf finished tenth last season, but haven’t made the best of starts to this campaign. They are currently 13th in the league table, just one point clear of 16th place Hertha Berlin.

Despite their woes, star striker Rouwen Hennings is in excellent form and has found the net ten times in 13 Bundesliga matches. The 32 year old helped his side salvage a late draw against Hoffenheim last weekend, and the Dortmund defenders will have to be at their best if they are to stop him.
