December 14th: Away to Mainz 05

When Dortmund travel to Mainz it will hopefully be on the back of two more victories, one in the Bundesliga and the second securing their place in the Champions League round of 16. If that’s the case Dortmund will be heavy favorites coming into what could be a trap game. Either way, at this point in the season with the position they’re in, Dortmund can’t afford to take anyone lightly.

Mainz currently sit 12th in the Bundesliga and although they haven’t had the best start to the season they have strung back to back wins together against Hoffenheim and Frankfurt. Those aren’t easy games, especially for a club like Mainz.

Mainz aren’t a squad with a prolific striker or player they are reliant on, they defend deep and rely on a team game that wears opponents down.
