All-black Borussia Dortmund thrash Fortuna Düsseldorf

Wearing all-black to commemorate the club’s 110th anniversary, Borussia Dortmund put in their best performance of the season so far to hand Fortuna Düsseldorf a 5-0 thrashing.

While Borussia Dortmund were on top for the majority of the first half, they had to wait until the 42nd minute to take the lead. Marco Reus ended a first half of sheer dominance by making it 1-0 for the home side after being played in by Lukasz Piszczek.

The floodgates opened up in the second half, as Thorgan Hazard placed the ball into the bottom corner after going through on goal.

Jadon Sancho then got on the scoresheet after combining brilliantly with Marco Reus. The Dortmund captain then got on the end of Thorgan Hazard’s low cross to double his tally. Before Jadon Sancho sealed the rout with an easy finish after a blistering counter attack.

It was an emphatic win for Borussia Dortmund that put them right back into the title picture after weeks of struggle.
