Winner: Borussia Dortmund’s supporting cast

The likes of Thorgan Hazard, Marco Reus, Jadon Sancho and Julian Brandt will be licking their lips at the arrival of Erling Haaland. Borussia Dortmund have so much creativity in their attacking midfield, they should easily be scoring 2-3 goals in most games.

But without a natural striker, they often lacked that presence in the box to finish those chances created by the supporting cast. In most of the games Dortmund have dropped points this season, they have missed countless chances before conceding goals.

But with the signing of Haaland, Borussia Dortmund now have a player who can get on the end of crosses, take on the physical defenders and gets in the best positions to score goals. His movement and ability to poach key goals could well be the thing that turns those frustrating draws into wins for Der BVB.

Haaland will be fed by Sancho and Hazard on the wings, and will also have Brandt and Reus orchestrating the play behind him. It will be really exciting to see how they all link up in the second half of the season.
