Borussia Dortmund have a growing list of players who are struggling to find game time, here we will determine if Dortmund should keep, sell or loan them.

Borussia Dortmund have a lot of depth in certain positions and as a result there are some players who are not getting the game time they are looking for. Lucien Favre is also not a huge fan of rotation, once he finds a system and set up that works he sticks to it pretty faithfully. This only makes it harder for these players to break into the starting XI.

Here we will take a look at what players Borussia Dortmund should keep, loan or sell.

Paco Alcacer

Paco Alcacer had a great start to the season scoring 5 goals in his first 4 games. Since then he has battled nagging injuries that kept him out of the squad for prolonged periods of time. Because of that along with the system change, Alcacer no longer finds himself in the starting lineup. After bringing in Haaland now as well, the Spaniard’s play time isn’t likely going to go up.

Regardless Dortmund should not be selling him in January, doing so would bring them back to the exact same issue they have had since the summer, only having one striker. Alcacer has proven in the past he can be an exceptional super sub and that may be the role Dortmund need him to play the rest of this season. You can sell him in the summer as long as he is adequately replaced but you can’t sell him in January and leave Dortmund yet again with one striker in Haaland.
