Borussia Dortmund: Three players to watch in the second half of the season
By Tushar Bahl
Marco Reus
If you look at his numbers, Marco Reus had an excellent hinrunde. Nine goals and three assists in 16 league appearances is not a bad tally for someone who has been criticised as often as he has.
But of course, numbers don’t tell the whole story and Reus will be the first to admit that he wasn’t at his best in quite a few of the games. The Dortmund captain’s performances mirrored those of the team.
When Reus played well, Borussia Dortmund won more often than not. But when Reus struggled, so did the team. Eight of his nine goals came in victories, with the other one coming in a draw against Werder Bremen.
We all know that Reus is capable of producing game-changing moments week in, week out. And if he can just add the consistency that we saw in the first half of last season, there will be no stopping the Borussia Dortmund talisman.
