Midfield: Julian Brandt, Axel Witsel

Ever since Favre moved Julian Brandt to midfield, the German international has been a completely different player. He offers so much more in the middle of the park, not only an exceptional passer but his movement on the ball is too much for opposing central midfielders to handle.

As soon as they were put together Witsel and Brandt just worked, and they have continued to get better and better, the more they have played together. They possess such distinctly different qualities it makes Dortmund’s midfield much more difficult to contain. Barring injury or required rest these two should have their spots cemented in the started XI.
