Lukasz Piszczek (6/10)

Piszczek looked much more assured and confident than he did last weekend against Augsburg. His lack of pace did not hurt the team tonight, and he also made some important tackles.

Mats Hummels (8.5/10)

Hummels was excellent both defensively and in the build-up play going forward. The centre-back made the opener happen with a delightful over the top pass to Marco Reus. He then came close to making it 2-0, but his header hit the crossbar from a corner. Hummels then put Reus through on goal with another gorgeous long ball, and the latter found the net to make it 2-0.

He did have a slip-up at the start of the second half, but luckily Cordoba had strayed offside. Other than that, it was another superb performance by Hummels.

Manuel Akanji (6/10)

Akanji has been subject to a lot of criticism in recent weeks, and rightly so. But he did not do much wrong tonight, and dealt with the threat of the Köln forwards well. A solid shift by the Swiss international.
