Borussia Dortmund teammates rave about free-scoring Erling Haaland

Borussia Dortmund players (except Roman Bürki!) heaped praise Erling Haaland after the striker’s devastating impact from the bench against FC Köln.
After last weekend’s memorable hat-trick against Augsburg, Erling Haaland made more history on Friday night as he came off the bench to score twice in Borussia Dortmund’s 5-1 win over FC Köln. The brace helped Haaland take his tally to five goals since joining Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg earlier this month.
With his goals, Haaland became the fastest player in Bundesliga history to reach five goals, doing so in just two games. The Norwegian international has only played an hour of football for the Black and Yellows, and averages a goal every 12 minutes.
His cameo off the bench helped Borussia Dortmund cruise to a 5-1 victory over a hapless FC Köln side. And after the game, Haaland’s teammates and head coach were full of praise of the 19 year old’s incredible start to life at the Westfalenstadion.
Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus, who scored a goal and got an assist in the win said after the game, “That’s what we signed him for. It’s wonderful for him, of course. There are worse ways to start at a club. He is very calm, stays relaxed and works very hard.”
His performance did not impress everybody though, as goalkeeper Roman Bürki took a lighthearted dig at Haaland for failing to match his three goal feat from last weekend.
"Bürki joked to DAZN, “It’s a shame he’s slowing down! First three goals, and only two tonight. I hope that it won’t only be one goal next. Joking aside, he is a great kid. He has everything it takes to reach the top.”"
Head coach Lucien Favre also lauded his new striker, and praised his mentality and determination for helping his side get back in control after Köln pulled a goal back.
Favre said in his post-match press conference:
"“You can’t put the brakes on with him (Haaland). He always wants to win. For me as a coach, it’s fantastic to have players like him. The goals were very, very important. We lost a little bit of concentration once but in the end it’s 5-1. We could have scored even more goals.”"
Haaland will be now hoping to make his first Bundesliga start next weekend as Borussia Dortmund host Union Berlin.
