Juventus midfielder Emre Can is set to join Borussia Dortmund this week, according to multiple reports in Germany and Italy.

Emre Can has long been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund, but the Black and Yellows have reportedly stepped up their interest in signing him in the last seven days. Can is free to leave Juventus, having fallen out of favour under head coach Maurizio Sarri. But with the Italian giants asking for 30 million euros, the finances were thought to be a stumbling block in the transfer.

But now it looks like Borussia Dortmund have managed to convince Juventus into lowering their asking price. According to reports in Italy, the German international is closing in on a move to Borussia Dortmund for a fee of 24 million euros.

Schira adds that Can will sign a four and a half year deal, which will keep him at the Westfalenstadion until 2024. Can earns an annual wage of 14 million euros, but it is being widely reported that he is ready to take a pay cut in order to join Borussia Dortmund.

BILD said yesterday that Borussia Dortmund are ‘closest’ to Can’s signature, but added that a number of other clubs are also interested in signing him. Sky Germany also claim that Can’s move to Dortmund is imminent.

The 26 year old is primarily a defensive midfielder, but is also capable of playing as a centre-back, as he often did during his days at Liverpool. According to Kicker, Favre is planning to use Can as part of a back three.
