Borussia Dortmund continued their incredible start to 2020 with a 5-0 win over Union Berlin on Saturday. It was a display of sheer dominance, as the Black and Yellows made it 15 goals in just three games since the turn of the year.

After breezing past their opponents in the last three games, Borussia Dortmund now turn their attentions to the German Cup, where a trip to Werder Bremen awaits them. Lucien Favre could be tempted to rest a few key players, despite the importance of the Pokal.

Not much has gone right for Werder Bremen this season. Florian Kohfeldt’s side were expected to challenge for a Europa League spot this season, but currently lie in 16th place in the league table. Injuries have plagued their season so far, and Bremen suffered another demoralising defeat last weekend, when Augsburg came from behind to beat them 2-1.

Bremen have one of the worst defensive records in the Bundesliga, and the Borussia Dortmund forwards will be licking their lips at the prospect of going up against them.

Despite their woes, Werder Bremen are more than capable of causing an upset, as Borussia Dortmund found out in the third round of the Pokal last season.
