Previous Meeting: Borussia Dortmund 2-2 Werder Bremen
The last time these two sides met was back in September, when they played out a 2-2 draw. Despite Bremen’s struggles, they took the lead through Milot Rashica in just the seventh minute. But their lead lasted for only two minutes, as Mario Götze headed home Borussia Dortmund’s equaliser, after an excellent cross by Lukasz Piszczek.
Borussia Dortmund started to dominate the game after their goal, and finally took the lead in the 41st minute, with Marco Reus heading the ball into the net after being picked out by Thorgan Hazard.
The Black and Yellows took the foot off the gas after half time, allowing Werder Bremen to get back in the game. Marco Friedl equalised for Bremen in the 55th minute after Dortmund failed to clear a corner.
Lucien Favre’s side worked hard to restore their lead, but weren’t able to find a winner, and the points were shared.
