Achraf Hakimi (4/10)

Hakimi put in another disappointing display at right wing back. He carelessly gave the ball away before Werder Bremen’s opener, and never looked too comfortable defensively. He also failed to cause any problems going forward.

Julian Brandt (8.5/10)

If there is one Dortmund player who can say they had an excellent game tonight, its Julian Brandt. The German playmaker picked up where he left off at the weekend, and was a constant threat with his distribution and forward passes. He ran the show for Borussia Dortmund and created a number of good chances for his teammates.

He assisted both of his side’s goals and could have easily had at least two more assists tonight had his teammates not missed some of the glorious chances he set up.

Axel Witsel (5/10)

Witsel wasn’t able to control the game for Borussia Dortmund as he so often does, and most of his passes were either sideways or backwards in the first half. He got better after the break, but left too much space for Osako to take his time and pick out Rashica for Bremen’s third goal.

Nico Schulz (4/10)

Schulz came into the side in place of Raphael Guerreiro, and failed to make much of an impression. He looked off the pace right from the start, and never looked confident, either defensively or going forward. He did not cause any trouble down the left flank, and missed a great chance after being played in by Haaland in the second half.
