Borussia Dortmund make the trip to Werder Bremen for the third round of the DFB Pokal on Tuesday.

Having scored five goals in each of their opening three games of the calendar year, Borussia Dortmund are on a roll at the moment. Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho are breaking records and creating history week in, week out. And the Black and Yellows will be aiming to keep this run going with games now coming thick and fast.

On Tuesday, Dortmund face a Werder Bremen side that is making the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season. Tipped to fight for a Europa League spot at the start of the season, Florian Kohfeldt’s side are currently locked in a relegation dogfight. With only four wins so far, Bremen are 16th in the Bundesliga standings.

But as is so often said, the form book goes out of the window in cup ties. And Borussia Dortmund will know that a tough test awaits them on Tuesday. Werder Bremen will be looking to kickstart their resurgence with a win over an in-form Borussia Dortmund side.

New signing Emre Can has traveled with the squad to Bremen, and could make his Borussia Dortmund debut on Tuesday. Raphael Guerreiro and Thomas Delaney are the only senior players who haven’t made the trip to Bremen.

The game will be broadcast live in the United States on ESPN 3, and in Germany on Sky Sport 1 HD. Viewers can also stream the game live on YouTube for free.
