Pro: Favre’s man management leaves a lot to be desired

Even if we excuse Lucien Favre for the defensive errors, the way he has handled certain players has simply not been good enough. Some players get dropped after one bad half, while others keep getting chance after chance, no matter how many mistakes they make.

Favre has the habit of freezing players out and not rotating his squad. As a result, some players get rusty, while others get picked until they get injured. And when the key players get injured, the rusty players are unable to make an impact due to their lack of match practice.

Favre’s insistence on playing Manuel Akanji despite his error ridden performances has raised a lot of eyebrows this season. While Leonardo Balerdi continues to sit on the bench.
