Jadon Sancho will be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to Sky Germany reporter Jesco von Eichmann.

Jadon Sancho has enjoyed a meteoric rise since joining Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017. His performances over the last 18 months have helped him become one of Europe’s most talented youngsters. He has also attracted the interest of a number of big clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Sky Germany now say that Sancho will end his three year stay at Borussia Dortmund this summer, and Manchester United are one of the clubs interested in his signature.

"“He will leave Dortmund this summer, that’s for sure,” Sky Germany reporter Jesco von Eichmann said. “It’s not clear to which club he will change. Manchester United is one of the big clubs that are interested, that I’ve heard.”“Michael Zorc, the director of Dortmund, said last week in an interview that he hasn’t had an offer for Jadon Sancho yet. Today, I asked him again, and he just smiled.“There will be some offers for Sancho in the future. He is improving. He was very tired at the end of the first part of the season but now he’s very fit and performing very good. He improved his behaviour.”“He is working hard in training so Lucien Favre is pretty happy with him right now.”"

Sancho has scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists in just 19 Bundesliga appearances so far this season. He is undoubtedly one of Borussia Dortmund’s most important players. And the BVB bosses will be determined to get a big money fee if they are to part ways with him.

Sancho still has over two years left in his Borussia Dortmund contract, so Michael Zorc and co. are in no pressure to sell their star winger. If he has a good end to the season, and then goes on to do well at the upcoming European Championships, his price tag would rise even further.

If the report from Sky is indeed true, Borussia Dortmund will be looking to have a replacement in mind before sanctioning Sancho’s departure. They will be aiming to avoid a repeat of the scenario that saw them sign Andriy Yarmolenko as Ousmane Dembele’s replacement after the Frenchman left for Barcelona right at the end of the transfer window in 2017.
