Achraf Hakimi (7/10)

Hakimi ran his socks off tonight, showing great pace and athleticism. He caused a lot of problems to Kurzawa, but his final ball seemed to be lacking at times. He was involved in Dortmund’s opener though, as he found Guerreiro in the middle of the box, before his shot was deflected into Haaland’s path.

The wing-back had a late chance to double Dortmund’s lead, but he got caught in two minds and missed the target by a mile.

Axel Witsel (7.5/10)

Witsel was immense tonight, dominating the game right from the get go. He was everywhere, pressing high up the pitch, making important tackles and quickly turning defence into attack. The Belgian completed 98% of his passes, and played with real authority tonight. He kept Neymar in his pocket all game, making sure the Brazilian’s impact was limited.

Emre Can (7.5/10)

What a signing Emre Can is proving to be for Borussia Dortmund! The club made his loan deal permanent just before the game, and he showed exactly why they signed him from Juventus. He did all the dirty work and bossed the midfield alongside Witsel. His robustness and leadership were crucial in Borussia Dortmund maintaining the control in the middle of the park.

Raphael Guerreiro (7/10)

He wasn’t able to shine as he did at the weekend, but Raphael Guerreiro quietly put in another decent shift at left wing-back. He defended strongly, played with great composure in pressure situations, and linked up well with the forward players. He also made a great run into the box and prepared Haaland’s opener with his blocked shot.
