Emre Can is doing more than he appears

Emre Can has been unbelievable since joining Borussia Dortmund, which is the explanation for why they’ve already made his loan permanent. He has played more and more in each game he’s featured in, finally making it through the full 90 minutes against PSG. He has jelled instantly with Axel Witsel in midfield and played a key role in Dortmund’s positive result on Tuesday.

He has provided the much needed stability alongside Witsel that has been lacking from Dortmund’s midfield ever since he joined. He offers a second layer of protection for the Dortmund back line that has helped them keep their shape in recent games and snuff out attacks.

He also has the ball playing and athletic ability that allowed him to break through the PSG midfield with his pace. He is much better on the ball than originally anticipated and this is already a very positive impact for a January transfer.
