Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 2-0 win over Werder Bremen: Zagadou, Haaland seal crucial win
By Tushar Bahl
Thorgan Hazard (5/10)
Hazard put in another hard working display for the team, but he wasn’t able to threaten Bremen’s back-line. The Belgian undoubtedly has the quality, but he hasn’t made the desired impact in recent weeks. And today was more of the same.
Jadon Sancho (7/10)
Sancho wasn’t at his best tonight, but still managed to cause quite a few problems to the Werder Bremen defence. He got the assist for Zagadou’s goal with a brilliant delivery from a corner in the second half, and linked up well with Hakimi before Haaland’s goal. The Englishman also got a bit of a rest towards the end, with Gio Reyna replacing him.
Erling Haaland (8/10)
Haaland continued his excellent scoring record with another goal to seal the win for his side. He struggled to get involved in the game in the first half, but that did not stop him from making runs and working hard for the team. He had a couple of chances late on, but Pavlenka made sure he couldn’t add to his tally.
Substitutes
Gio Reyna (N/R)
Reyna came on with the game all sewn up.
Julian Brandt, Manuel Akanji (N/R)
Brandt and Akanji were both late subs as Lucien Favre looked to waste some time and see the game through.
