Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 1-0 win over SC Freiburg: Sancho the difference maker
By Tushar Bahl
Jadon Sancho scored his 14th goal of the season leading Borussia Dortmund to a hard-fought 1-0 win over SC Freiburg.
With Erling Haaland only fit enough to start on the bench, Lucien Favre went with a front three of Jadon Sancho, Thorgan Hazard and Julian Brandt. And the trio combined really well for what proved to be the only goal of the game, as Jadon Sancho fired Borussia Dortmund in front from close range.
Dortmund dominated the ball for the majority of the game, but the players’ tiredness allowed Freiburg to stay in the contest. The away side had a couple of decent chances to equalise, but they weren’t able to beat Roman Bürki’s goal, giving the Black and Yellows all three points.
Here are the player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 1-0 win over SC Freiburg.
Roman Bürki (7/10)
Bürki was alert at all times, and made some decent saves to keep his side ahead. His best save came in the second half when he parried away Vincenzo Grifo’s free-kick for a corner. Bürki has now kept three clean-sheets in a row, and he certainly deserved one today.
