Borussia Dortmund look to continue good run of form against Borussia Mönchengladbach
By Tom Rodgers
Previous Meeting: Borussia Dortmund 2-1 Borussia Mönchengladbach
The last time these two sides met was back in October in the second round of the DFB Pokal. After a tight first half, Gladbach took advantage of poor Dortmund defending to take the lead through Marcus Thuram’s header.
But the Black and Yellows, who had looked lackluster for the majority of the game, responded well and turned the game around thanks to a three minute brace by Julian Brandt.
The goals helped them seal their progress to the third round, and saw Brandt announce himself at the Westfalenstadion following his summer move from Leverkusen. Dortmund fans will be hoping for more of the same from the key playmaker, with Marco Reus now set to miss more games than first expected.
