Achraf Hakimi (7/10)

Achraf Hakimi had a quiet first half offensively as he made several long hard sprints and ended up getting looked off by his teammates. It was only a matter of time for Hakimi and his blistering pace to make it’s usual impact on the game. Jadon Sancho found Hakimi bombing down the right side and sent him in alone for Dortmund’s second goal. Hakimi almost spilled his touch on goal but luckily his pace was enough to catch back up to the ball and meg Sommer to take the lead.

Axel Witsel (5.5/10)

Axel Witsel had a rare poor appearance for Dortmund. He didn’t have his usual impact on the game and really struggled to move the ball forward for Dortmund. He and Can still made their strong defensive contributions but Dortmund got hemmed in a lot because if their inability to move the ball forward today.

Emre Can (6/10)

Emre Can, like Witsel, didn’t have his best game in this one. A lot of the same issues, unable to be the link needed to move the ball from defense to offense resulting in Dortmund kicking the ball away a lot under Gladbach’s pressure. His impact was more noticeable though with his strong tackling, duels and exceptional ball retention in 1v1’s.

Raphael Guerreiro (5.5/10)

Guerreiro like a lot of Dortmund players today didn’t really have a massive impact. He has been in such a good run of form so it was a rare occurrence to see him struggle to create down the touchline. He also made a couple of sloppy defensive errors that nearly cost the team.

Likely just a one off in a tough away game, Guerreiro’s contributions will hopefully be much more noticeable against PSG.
