Borussia Dortmund: Win over Borussia Mönchengladbach could be a season defining one

Ready and in-form for Paris
With the second leg against Paris Saint-Germain approaching, it was always going to be crucial for Borussia Dortmund to go in playing well. Not only have Dortmund won every game since defeating the French side in the first leg, they are coming off the perfect tune up game.
Against Gladbach, Dortmund went into a hostile environment for a match that could potentially make or break the season. The situation will almost certainly be similar, if not more intimidating, in Paris for the upcoming Champions League game.
Seeing the side go into that setting and come out with a victory is another big stride for the team this season. Dortmund have struggled in the big games on the road, losing to Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Inter Milan and Barcelona away from home this season. It was the perfect time for Dortmund to get their biggest road win of the season, ahead of one that could be the most important to this point in the year.
An added benefit to all this, was the aforementioned rotation for Sancho and Brandt. The two both go into Wednesday’s clash relatively rested, especially Sancho, who subbed in at the 66th minute for the German.
The Englishman’s fitness will be crucial in that game, if it is to follow the dynamic of the Gladbach fixture where he and Hakimi are looking to spark Dortmund’s counter attacks amidst the PSG attack.
