Four key battles that could decide PSG vs Borussia Dortmund

Axel Witsel vs Idrissa Gueye
With influential midfielder Marco Verratti suspended for the second leg, the task of dictating the game and doing all the dirty work for PSG will fall to Idrissa Gueye. The summer signing has been a regular starter for Thomas Tuchel’s team this season, and his performance in the heart of the midfield will be crucial on Wednesday.
Emre Can’s arrival has freed Axel Witsel, allowing him to venture forward and contribute to the attacking play and spray penetrative passes more often. Both Can and Witsel are quality defensive midfielders, and if they play like they did in the first leg, Dortmund’s chances of progressing will certainly increase.
PSG are set to enjoy the majority of the ball, and Dortmund will target counter attacks to hurt them. So Gueye’s ability to break up play and prevent the ball from reaching the likes of Sancho and Haaland will definitely be crucial.
