Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 2-0 defeat to PSG: Champions League heartbreak for BVB
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund are out of the UEFA Champions League after PSG overturned their first leg deficit with a 2-0 win.
Looking to defend their 2-1 first leg advantage in front of an empty Parc des Princes, Borussia Dortmund were passive from the off, allowing PSG to control the tempo of the game. The home side took the lead through Neymar just before the half hour mark, after the Brazilian was allowed way too much space and time to head home from a corner.
The goal failed to wake Dortmund up though, as more poor defending saw Bernat make it 2-0 on the night on the stroke of half time. The Black and Yellows showed more attacking intent in the second half, but lacked the quality or penetration to cause too many problems to the PSG defence.
It ended 2-0 in favour of PSG, with Thomas Tuchel’s team progressing to the quarterfinals, and Borussia Dortmund suffering Champions League heartache in the round of 16 for the second year running.
Here are the player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from the game.
Roman Bürki (6/10)
Bürki did not really stand much of a chance with either of the PSG goals. He also made a couple of good saves to prevent things from getting worse for his side.
