Achraf Hakimi

Achraf Hakimi is a very polarizing player for Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Dortmund fans. He is both equally loved and hated by fans, some astounded by his insane pace and attacking prowess and others frustrated with his poor defensive positioning and lack of awareness. As a player he offers such a unique skill set for a defender, although he’s a bit of a wing-back/winger hybrid. Hakimi is a terror to opposing defenses yet somehow a blessing to opposing offenses, the main reason the decision on him is so split.

The debate could all be moot if Real Madrid decide they want to keep him this summer, with his two year loan ending in June. However, Madrid already have Daniel Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola also coming back from a loan with Bayern Munich. With that many options it’s possible Dortmund have a chance to land Hakimi at minimum on another loan deal.

But with Thomas Meunier arriving on a free transfer at the end of the season, the chances of him staying become that much slimmer.
