Mario Gotze & Eric Oelschlägel

Mario Gotze has been significantly under-used by Lucien Favre that there is almost no question if he will be leaving or not. The only chance Gotze would realistically have of staying is if Favre is let go before the end of the season and Zorc can convince him to stay now. If Dortmund leave the Favre decision until the summer it’s very likely another team comes in and grabs Gotze’s signature.

Having only ever played in the Bundesliga, there have been several rumors of Gotze wanting to potentially play abroad. There had been some links to Italian sides, it will be interesting to see if those return again or not once the pandemic is sorted.

Eric Oelschlägel is currently firmly set as Borussia Dortmund’s third string keeper. I’m not sure how much opportunity he is really going to get at another Bundesliga club so we could easily see him extended past the summer. It could also easily go the other way with Oelschlägel wanting more opportunity for game time.
