Julian Brandt

Julian Brandt was Borussia Dortmund’s biggest signing of the summer and likely the biggest one since Marco Reus made his return to the club. It’s amazing that Michael Zorc was able to land Brandt, who easily could have made a much more lucrative move to the Premier League or to Bayern Munich, and even more impressive was the fact that they got him for only €25 million.

Brandt has lived up to the hype since joining Dortmund. Although he didn’t blow anyone away early on, once he switched to a central role in midfield he became the difference maker.

He found his natural position and alongside Witsel was really able to showcase his game breaking ability. Julian Brandt is likely the long term replacement for Marco Reus and has been very impressive thus far in his Dortmund career.
