How Borussia Dortmund’s seven new signings have fared so far
Nico Schulz
Nico Schulz has been the one casualty from the high profile summer transfers as he just hasn’t been able to cement his spot in the starting XI. He hasn’t been bad he just doesn’t offer the attacking upside Borussia Dortmund need in the wing-back role. Pair that with his defensive mistakes that have cost the team goals, and fans have been left wondering just why Dortmund splashed so much cash on him.
Because of that he has seemingly dropped far behind Guerreiro for the starting spot and hasn’t really gotten a real chance in a while. Guerreiro has made the left wing-back role his own, and it will be difficult for Schulz to replace him unless he shows real improvements.

Mateu Morey
Mateu Morey had a very promising pre-season for Borussia Dortmund and looked like he was going to have a real chance at some game time with the first team. Unfortunately he dislocated his shoulder in one of the final pre-season games and has been completely forgotten since. It’s very surprising he hasn’t been given a single chance considering how well he played in pre-season. With every point crucial now it’s not likely that he will see more chances anytime soon.
