Emre Can

Borussia Dortmund announced the signing of Emre Can on an initial loan deal from Juventus on deadline day in January. It wasn’t a signing that convinced everyone initially, but Can has quickly established himself as a very important player for the team.

The German international scored a stunning golazo on his league debut for Dortmund, and he has settled in the defensive midfield since then. He hasn’t been shy of playing the role of the mad dog and doing all the dirty work to let those in front of him play with more freedom.

It’s no surprise that Can’s arrival has led to an improvement in results. He is the type of player you love to have in your team, but hate when he plays for your opponent.

Can is still only 26, and he can be an influential figure in Borussia Dortmund’s midfield for years to come. If he continues to perform like he has so far, he could prove to be another genius signing by Michael Zorc and co.
