Rumour: Borussia Dortmund have no plans to lower Jadon Sancho asking price
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund have no plans to lower their asking price for Jadon Sancho, despite the financial uncertainty due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Jadon Sancho, who turns 20 today, has been heavily linked with a big money move away from Borussia Dortmund in the last few months. His performances over the past 18 months have been nothing short of world-class, attracting the attention of a number of big clubs around Europe.
Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea are thought to be leading the race for his signature, while the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City have also been linked with the winger.
German magazine SportBILD say that Borussia Dortmund will not lower their asking price, and want a fee of at least 130 million euros for the highly rated England international, despite the financial problems and uncertainty that the coronavirus crisis has brought. They add that Sancho is also happy at Borussia Dortmund, and wants to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
So if Manchester United and Chelsea fail to offer Champions League football next season, Sancho could reject them to stay at Dortmund. His contract with the Black and Yellows does not expire until the end of the 2021/22 season.
Sancho has been one of the best players in the Bundesliga this season, with a total of 17 goals and 16 assists to his name in 35 appearances all competitions. His performances have been crucial to Borussia Dortmund’s title challenge, with Der BVB currently lying in second place in the Bundesliga standings.
