Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern – DFB Pokal 2011/2012

Borussia Dortmund’s DFB Pokal clinching win over Bayern Munich in 2012 was when they really put their stamp on their return to the top of German football. Although they had come off wining the Bundesliga title in 2010/2011 they not only repeated that feat, but won their first and only  German double.

Not only did Borussia Dortmund defeat Bayern Munich, they absolutely thrashed their title rivals in a 5-2 win to take home the DFB Pokal.

It was one of Dortmund’s most impactful wins, not only furthering the belief in the team but also forcing Bayern into a more aggressive approach to try and take back the Bundesliga in the coming years. This one is well worth the re-watch while the Bundesliga is suspended.
